Sonette de Beer gave up her full time career as a fashion designer for the role of mom when her second daughter was born in 2004.

Living in the countryside of Mpumalanga ("the place of the sun") near Nelspruit she realized that there was the need for additional income for the wife’s of our farm laborers. Traveling costs made it impossible for the ladies to work in town. Sonette trained the unskilled ladies hand make gift sets and travel kits for Bush Baby® Cosmetics. This again enabled us to take on other projects as well

Bush Baby®'s products are handmade from 100% Ramie Linnen and handprinted cotton tape. The original design for Bush Baby® by SONette is made with love for all to enjoy! The Name SONette is derived from her own name with the “SON” in captilas which means the sun when translated from Afrikaans.
